The Border Patrol‘s union blasted President Joe Biden’s plan to visit the border, saying it’s coming too late to tackle the crisis and is only “to save himself.”
The White House confirmed Monday that Biden will travel to Brownsville, Texas, on Thursday to meet with Border Patrol agents, law enforcement, and local officials. In a statement to Fox News Digital, the National Border Patrol Council said the president, “after repeatedly stating there is no crisis, [his trip] is too little, too late.”
“But even if he were to put the proper policies in place at this late hour, he’d be doing it only to try to save his Presidency. And self-serving actions when time is winding down should always give Americans pause. Common sense dictates that as a lame duck, he’d revert to his open border policies if re-elected,” the union added.
Biden’s trip to the southern border comes after months of pleas from Democratic governors and mayors who have urged the federal government to provide more support as the immigrant surge has overwhelmed their cities and states.
The union said Biden’s visit, the president’s second trip to the border since taking office, is “solely to try to save himself”
“Biden is going to the border now solely to try to save himself. Border security should never be about politics, it should always be about the safety and security of this great nation and the American people,” the union said.

The president’s trip also comes weeks after Senate Republicans blocked a bipartisan border deal that the Democratic president helped negotiate with their GOP colleagues. During a White House speech, Biden accused Senate Republicans of giving in to former President Donald Trump, who urged the lawmakers to reject the bill. Trump is also heading to a Texas border town on Thursday; the Republican front-runner will be in Eagle Pass, around 300 miles from Biden’s destination.
Biden isn’t running, it’s his handlers that are running for control of America. The Democrat-socialists saw a lot of their gains evaporate during Trumps presidency. They know that if he regains the presidency he will set them back decades. They overplayed their hand in the last three years. The American public has seen what they have done and are not happy. But let’s face facts, Biden is not running. It’s the deep state, the unelected bureaucrats that answer to no one that’s pulling his strings. Biden is just the puppet. Along with the border Bidens failures are epic.
