Are China and Russia preparing to simultaneously start wars at the same time? Russia with Ukraine, and China at Taiwan. If they coordinate and strike within a week or two of each other the world would not have a chance to respond appropriately. Both countries could overwhelm their opponents quickly. They have already staged forces close to where they could strike without only Ukraine and Taiwan to oppose them.
Other nations have not prepared for this type of incursion and would not be able to reply with any fast response to both countries attacking. Ukraine and Taiwan would be left to defend themselves and hope other nations with the means to help would.
Taiwan is a de facto independent country, with its own military, democratically-elected government, and constitution. The Chinese regime refuses to recognize the island’s government and has increasingly sought to isolate the administration of President Tsai Ing-wen.
Taiwan and China split during a civil war in 1949, and Beijing opposes Taiwan’s involvement in international organizations.
There are other countries at play also. Many oppose the incursions but there are a few that would stand with Russia and China.
Taiwan said 27 Chinese aircraft entered its air defense buffer zone on Sunday, the latest in a long series of incursions as part of Beijing’s pressure on the self-ruled island.
